Weegee the Famous

'm reading "Flash - The Making of Weegee the Famous," by Christopher Bonanos. The book was published last year & is a bio of Arthur Fellig. Under his better known name, he was a famous street & crime photographer in New York City in film days. He learned to photograph people's reactions to dramatic or violent events. To me this means he not only was a documentarian but a recorder of the emotional impact. Things like this make me go "hmmmmmm."

  1. His favorite settings at night were either f/16 at 200 or "f/8 & be there."
